STATEMENT OF FAITHThe Bible We Believe the Bible is the final authoritative word of God. It is divinely inspired, preserved and infallible. It is the standard by which all men will be judged. All scriptures were designed for the practical instruction in our everyday living. (Psalm 119:160, II Tim. 3:16, II Pet. 1:20-21) God We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons. The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. These three are one God; having precisely the same nature, attributes, and worthy of precisely the same homage. (Deut. 6:4, Isa. 45:5, I Jn. 5:7) Christ We believe in the deity of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and that all scriptures center around him. We believe in his virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious atonement on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father and his personal return in power and glory. (Jn. 1:1-3, 14, Matt. 1:23, Titus 2:11-14 Matt.28:5-6, Rev. 1:5-7) Salvation We believe in the new birth of the believer, salvation of lost and sinful man through personal repentance, and acceptance of Jesus Christ as the only way and in the regeneration by the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 3:23, 5:12, Jn. 14:6, Acts 4:12, Jn. 3:3-5 Titus 3:3-7) Holy Spirit We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the believer is empowered to live a godly life with gifts that are active in the church and the life of the believer. (I Cor. 12:1-11, Acts 13:2 & 20:28, John 16:13-14). Resurrection We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: of them that are saved unto the resurrection of life, of them that are lost the resurrection of damnation. (Jn. 5:28-29, Dan. 12:13, I Cor. 15:20) Ordinances We believe in the necessity of water baptism by the immersion in the name of the eternal Godhead in order to fulfil the command of Christ (Matt, 28:19, Acts 2:24-41; 19:1-6) We believe in the table of the Lord commonly called the communion or the Lord’s supper for all believers. I 1 Cor. 11:28-32) Marriage We believe in the Biblical definition of marriage and its laws concerning human sexuality. According to the Bible, marriage and the guiding principles for it was created and given to humanity by God as a part of his original creation. Therefore, the institution of marriage was not an after-thought or an invention of man but the creation of God. (Matt. 19:4-5; Lev. 20:13, I Cor. 6:9) |
